Kamala Harris Concedes 2024 Election, Biden and Trump Say

Families of American hostages pray President-elect Donald Trump and his transition team will work with President Biden and his administration officials to ensure the immediate release of the hostages, according to a statement issued Wednesday afternoon.

“For 397 days, Americans – Omer, Edan, Judy, Gad, Keith, Sagi and Itai – suffered at the hands of Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip,” the statement said.

“This is an urgent, catastrophic humanitarian crisis, not a partisan issue; our family members are in captivity in the Gaza Strip It takes a bipartisan coalition of brave, dedicated leaders to bring them home,” the families said, adding that the hostages could not wait any longer.

“They are counting on us and Republican and Democratic leaders to seize this moment,” the families said.

In a separate statement, Liz Hirsch Naftali, the great-aunt of 4-year-old Abigail Mor Edan, who was taken hostage on Oct. 7 and released 50 days later, said. Jerusalem Post on Tuesday, the President-elect and Biden must put pressure on Prime Minister Netanyahu, Ron Dermer and the Israeli leadership make a deal “This demonstrates their unfulfilled commitment to freeing the hostages for over a year.”

“This is the greatest priority the day after the 2024 elections as it relates to Israel and the hostages – to make a deal to release all the hostages, end the fighting and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza,” Naftali said. “In the meantime, everyone will lose, and, unfortunately, even more hostages and innocent people will die.”
