Wicomico Co. Announces First Recipients of Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund

WICOMICO CO., Md. – Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano announced the first two recipients of the county’s Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund.

The goal of this initiative is to continue the District’s commitment to strengthening community resources and promoting healing and growth through targeted investments in organizations that serve vulnerable populations.

First two recipients:

  • Recovery Resource Center: The center plans to implement a Peer Navigator Program and hire three certified peer recovery specialists who will offer support to people in the early stages of recovery.
  • Child and Family Center: The Center will launch a program to provide comprehensive assessments and interventions for identified children who have or are at risk of adverse childhood experiences. The goal of this program is to address and mitigate the effects of these experiences, build resilience, and improve the long-term well-being of at-risk youth in the county.

“We are thrilled to support the Recovery Resource Center and the Child and Family Center as the first beneficiaries of the Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund,” said County Executive Julie Giordano. “These organizations do invaluable work to improve the lives of individuals and families in our county by addressing recovery and childhood adversity in ways that will positively impact our community for years to come. By investing in programs like these, we are building a healthier and more resilient Wicomico County.”
