‘The Great British Baking Show’ star Paul Hollywood admits Prue Leith’s crude jokes made him leave the set

The Great British Baking Show judges Paul Hollywood And Prue Leith are known for their playful banter and on-screen chemistry, but the former admitted that he sometimes has to leave the set due to his co-star’s “awkward” comments.

Talking to Thudum from NetflixHollywood talked about how he and Leith have mellowed over the years and allowed more of their humor to seep through. However, this sometimes results in Leith making risqué puns, which cause him to become nervous and unable to continue.

“The problem is that it’s quite a tactile thing, bread or whatever, so some of the shapes can look a little rough on camera,” he explained, referencing last season’s bake-off where a contestant baked a beaver-shaped cake. “So Nicky, tell us about your beaver,” Leith said in the episode.

“She’s embarrassing. That’s who she is,” Hollywood joked about his fellow judge. “I mean, Prue will say that, and I’m sure she says it on purpose. We were making sausage rolls and she said to the guy, “I don’t think your sausage is big enough,” and I just stopped and said, “Sorry, I have to leave for 10 minutes.” ‘, so I left the tent.

But it’s that humor that Hollywood says has made the series so successful, running for 15 seasons and counting. “We all have a good sense of humor in the tent and we all have a good laugh. I think that’s part of the magic (of the show),” he said.

“The atmosphere in the tent is very fun, very joyful, very fun, so when someone says something to light up someone else, it just goes through it like wildfire,” Hollywood added.

As for Leith, she recently revealed Bella magazine that as she gets older she has become more “reckless” and just says whatever comes into her head. “Because I’m so close to the end, I’ve become a little more reckless. What’s the worst that could happen? she told the publication.

“If I was going to try to get a job at BakeI probably wouldn’t have walked down the runway in latex with gothic makeup, but now it’s too late. If I want to do it and it sounds fun, I just think, ‘Why not?'” she continued, referring to her runway debut during London Fashion Week in September.
