Malaysian Petronas canceled force majeure on gas supplies from MLNG Dua

Malaysia’s state-owned energy company Petroliam Nasional (Petronas) (IPO-PETO.KL) on Thursday said it has lifted a force majeure clause on gas supplies to one of its liquefaction terminals, Malaysia LNG Dua, starting November 1.

The company said the Sabah-Sarawak gas pipeline was disrupted due to a gas leak caused by ground movement in October 2022.

Petronas previously said the pipeline leak had impacted its supply obligations to some of its contracted LNG buyers and discussions were ongoing to “identify appropriate mitigation measures.”

The energy company said the move on Thursday follows the commissioning of its Jeroen and Kasawari gas fields earlier this year, both of which are located in Sarawak.
