HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A large warehouse fire burning in northwest Houston off Bingle Road, just off Highway 290, can be seen for miles.

The Houston Fire Department responded to heavy smoke and flames just after 3 p.m. Thursday.

SkyEye video shows huge smoke rising in the air. There have been no reports of casualties at this time.

The fire was difficult to extinguish because pallets, debris and a large truck were in the way, HFD spokesman Brent Taylor said.

Taylor said at least 100 firefighters and arson investigators are on the scene.

“The air and water quality is monitored,” Taylor said. “There is no indication at this time that there is a need for a shelter-in-place or any concerns regarding any hazardous materials.”

Authorities believe the building is a furniture warehouse.

The fire appears to be spreading inside and outside the building. It remains unclear what led to the fire.
