Bronny James will make his NBA G League debut on Saturday.

Lakers designated rookie guard Bronny James his South Bay Lakers Affiliate Thursday, paving the way for James to succeed. NBA G League debut Saturday night in El Segundo.

James, son Lakers star LeBron Jamesappeared in four games for the Lakers this season, including a moment on the court with his father in the team’s season opener.

During the Lakers’ final drive, Bronny James scored his first career NBA points to a standing ovation in Cleveland.

Lakers sophomores Jalen Hood-Schifino and Maxwell Lewis also played for the South Bay Lakers throughout their training camp.

Contracted players are free to move between the main roster and the G League roster.

“Bronny’s transition between the Lakers and the South Bay has always been the plan from day one,” Lakers coach JJ Redick said earlier this season. “(General Manager) Rob (Pelinka) and I talked about it. LeBron talked about it.”

The Lakers will host Philadelphia on Friday night at Crypto.com Arena.
