Trump and MAGA are now the establishment

Trump and MAGA are now the establishment

If there is something that President-elect Donald Trump and him MAGA movement Essentially, it is a fetishization of the victim’s own perception.

Whether it’s the “deep state”, migrants, the “awakening mind virus”, “globalist elites”, outdated media, prosecutors trying to prosecute Trump for his attempted coupRepublicans who refused to go along with the big lie – in the MAGA mind, something or someone was always holding them back.

But after Trump’s Amazing Victory this week we can say goodbye to all that. There is nothing higher than MAGA that can suppress MAGA.

If there’s one thing Trump and MAGA stand for, it’s the fetishization of one’s own perception of victimhood.

They have the White House. Senate. Supreme Court. It is quite possible that the House too. They have the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, and other right-wing billionaires from Silicon Valley and Wall Street ready to remake the federal government, including rolling back regulations on the businesses they own and installing loyalists in top leadership positions. And they have the country’s most famous anti-vaxxer and scientific ignoramus, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., ready to “make America healthy again.”

As Musk triumphantly remarked to Trump supporters at X: repeating a popular QAnon catchphrase“Now you are the media.”

But it’s not just that: MAGA is now the establishment. They have the keys to the country, this is their ship, which can sail majestically on the open seas or run aground.

If you blamed the Democrats for inflation, now you will see Trumponomics in action. Of course, inflation is a global crisis, largely caused by the Covid pandemic and the years it took for supply chains to get up to speed again. And yes, the US has weathered the inflation storm better than most advanced economies, the Federal Reserve is cutting interest rates, and the country has somehow managed to avoid a recession – but the atmosphere was bad. And this is the main reason why every ruling party – left or right – faced elections in a developed country this year. was defeated.

Trump, as is his wont, avoided many political details during the campaign, but he promised numerous tax cuts (which will pump even more air into the balloon that is our national debt) and harsh tariffs that economic experts say will worsen inflation, raise prices for everyday goods and lead to higher interest rates. The mass deportations he promised will also lead to economic disasternot to mention countless social unrest. But handing the bird over to the experts is as much a part of the MAGA ethos as its victim mentality. So enjoy the ride, MAGA. You are now an economy.

If you believe that Trump saved us from wars… despite his expansion of global drone warfare, maniacal saber-rattling and undermining of US alliances that contributed to global conflict. — then here’s your chance to see Trump make good on his promise to “end all wars” around the world.

This could well mean a weakening of NATO, the handing over of Ukraine to Vladimir Putin or Taiwan to China, and could also worsen the situation, which the left-wing Israeli news outlet Haaretz characterizes as “ethnic cleansing” in the northern Gaza Strip or will lead to the annexation of the West Bank, as stated by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. called after Trump’s victory. Personally, I don’t think the world would look any more “peaceful” if any of this happened, but MAGA has a mandate – you are America’s foreign policy now.

Trump easily won an election that, if he lost, he was fully prepared to falsely claim was fraudulent. Irony is dead.

If you think a second Trump administration will be less “divisive” than a Biden administration, then X marks that spot. Musk bought the company formerly known as Twitter in 2022 because he mistakenly believed that conservative voices were being attacked and censored – even recruiting sympathetic journalists to spin the story through carefully selected emails that they got it completely wrong V the infamous “Twitter Files.” And while Musk’s rebranded X has isolated left-wing echo chambers, X regularly stifles Musk critics and political opponents while expanding the reach of its MAGA allies. Despite the loss of money and users, Trump’s victory solidifies X as a MAGA movement echo chamber filled with racism, misinformation and essay-length posts from Police officers supporting Trump. Blame stale news if you will – you truly are MAGA media now.

And if you are committed to the idea that President Trump 2.0 will bring back “freedom”, despite all hisfreedom of speechboasting, Trump has always been hostile to free speechthreaten and take action government actions against its opponents, filing financially destructive bogus claims against news organizations and literally called for his political opponents to be imprisoned. Do you think the left’s “wokeness” or “PC culture” represents brutal tyranny? Now you control the institutions – you are now the speech police.

It is, of course, ironic that the right-wing populist movement, so emboldened by its opposition to left-wing “snowflake culture,” is itself a collective of self-proclaimed victims. But now this contradiction does not matter much.

Trump won big. He will likely escape accountability for attempting to steal the 2020 election and, allegedly, top-secret national security documents. He purged the Republican Party of dissenters. He easily won an election that he was fully prepared to falsely claim was rigged if he lost. Irony is dead.

This is your country now, MAGA. No more whiny whining about the establishment. You are in power, and the success or failure of the second Trump administration will depend on you. We will check your progress in four years.
