Elon Musk responded coldly to his daughter’s reaction to Trump’s victory

Elon Musk’s daughter, Vivian Jenna Wilson, like many in her community, was not thrilled with Donald Trump’s election victory on Tuesday.

There are concerns in the LGBTQ+ community (justifiable given the rhetoric) about what a second Trump term might look like. So, Vivian made a big announcement on social media.

“I’ve been thinking about this for a while, but (Tuesday) confirmed it for me,” she wrote. “I don’t see my future in the United States. Even if he’s only in office for 4 years, even if the anti-trans rules don’t magically go into effect, the people who voluntarily voted for it aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.”

Musk has money. Musk has authority, especially in the current administration. Musk also has a very cold heart when it comes to this. And we know this because he responded to a New York Post article about his daughter’s decision that he shared with X and wrote, “The awakened mind virus killed my son.”

He expressed a similar view on the topic in an interview over the summer when asked about her transition.

“I basically lost my son,” he said. “They call it a dead name for a reason. The reason it’s called a “deadname” is because your son is dead. My son is dead, killed by the mind awakening virus.

“So, after that, I vowed to destroy the mind awakening virus,” he added.

Responses to his latest response to X seemed divided.

Some applauded Musk and disagreed with what the “mind awakening virus” was supposed to be.

“This even hurts my heart,” one person wrote. “Losing a child is terrible. Losing a child to wake up is unimaginable.”

Others reproached Musk for his coldness towards his daughter.

“She’s your daughter,” one person responded. But I mean, if I literally neglected all my children, I would expect them to cut me out of my life when they became adults, too.”

“No, you were just a (expletive) parent,” wrote another.
