King Charles held the crucial meeting at Windsor Castle in the absence of Prince William.

The monarch met King Abdullah II of Jordan at the castle during the Prince of Wales’s high-profile tour of Cape Town.

Buckingham Palace shared adorable photos of the two royals on the royal family’s official social media account.

The statement said: “Earlier this evening, the King welcomed King Abdullah II @rhcjo to Windsor Castle to mark His Majesty’s Silver Jubilee year.”

“His Majesty King Abdullah II, accompanied by the King, inspected the guard of honor at the Quadrangle.”

It’s important to note that King Charles’ new engagement comes against the backdrop of William’s appearance at the glittering Earthshot Prize.

The future king wrote in a new message: “Cape Town had an incredible night at the @earthshotprize 2024 last night. Thanks to everyone who made it so special.”
