A professional cleaner shares the secret to a cleaning spray that will keep your appliances spotless and save you money.

I wipe off the product, but most of the time it leaves a sticky residue behind.

No matter how much I clean, the problem doesn’t get fixed and I feel hopeless… until now. I found this TikTok account run by a professional cleaner who makes the incredible claim that it’s because my cleaning sprays too much strong:

With over 100 thousand subscribers, Sergio from @edgecleaningwa shows that they don’t tell you that you should actually dilute cleaning sprays because they accumulate on surfaces and that’s what causes residue.

He says, “Although most people have a clean home, it will rarely or never be in pristine condition.” Thanks to his cleaning hacks on TikTok, ranging from how to make your house smell good to the do’s and don’ts of cleaning out your closet, this particular method for achieving the perfect spot has racked up nearly half a million views. Enthusiastic users left comments: “I want a cleaning like this” and “I just saved $100!” So, I had to try it for myself and I was amazed at the results.

Why can a cleaning spray leave streaks on the surface?

As @edgecleaningwa explains, it is the overuse of cleaning solutions that causes streaks on your surfaces. He adds that, simply put, if you wash your hands with too much soap and don’t rinse off properly, you’ll be left with a sticky residue. Likewise, if you wash your hair with too much product, it will remain unclean. So when using a cleaning solution, he advises diluting it with water in a separate bottle.

Using a reusable bottle like the one shown above, you can pour out some of the cleaning solution and add some water to it to make a lighter mixture. This cleaning method will also cut the cost of cleaning sprays in half if you dilute them in a second bottle. After all, who doesn’t want to save money on cleaning products?

One last tip from Sergio: use the wet and dry method. To do this, first wipe the cleaning solution with a rag. wet microfiber cloth and then use dry microfiber cloth to avoid leaving marks. Finally, a cleaning tip that means no dull residue and much more shine.
