Tottenham are preparing an ‘easy deal’ for La Liga star who could replace the retired ace for £80m

Tottenham are preparing an ‘easy deal’ for La Liga star who could replace the retired ace for £80m

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Rayo Vallecano star Andrei Ratiu amid fears Pedro Porro will move to Real Madrid, according to a report.

Caught offside demand Tottenham They are “already preparing” for life without Porro, with Ratiu becoming one of their top right-back targets. It is also believed that Tottenham could sign Ratiu even if Porro remains, such is their admiration for the La Liga player.

Tottenham are keeping an eye on Ratiu and are mobilizing ahead of a bid at the end of the season.

The Romanian international, who played in all four Euro 2024 matches for his country, is also being eyed by Atletico Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen.

However, Spurs still view the deal as a “no-brainer” deal. Caught offside state. This is because Ratiu is “ready for a new challenge”, although it is also available at a reasonable price.

The defender’s release clause from Rayo is worth €25m (£20.7m/$26.9m) and Spurs could collect that amount with relative ease. Ratiu’s former club Villarreal must pay 50 percent of the transfer fee.

The 26-year-old has scored one goal and made one assist in nine games this season and has been one of Rayo’s standout performers, helping them to ninth place in La Liga.

Ratiu has now won 25 caps for his country. He came through Villarreal’s academy and also had spells with Dutch club ADO Den Haag and Spanish club Huesca before joining Rayo in August 2023.

Pedro Porro’s future is uncertain

If this report is to be believed, Spurs are already taking action amid the uncertainty surrounding Porro’s situation.

The Spanish ace is understood to be a backup target for Real Madrid should they fail to land Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool.

At this stage, Alexander-Arnold appears to be favoring a move to Madrid. Although, Porro could still be their key target if Liverpool tug at Alexander-Arnold’s heartstrings and convince him to stay at his boyhood club.

Manchester City have also been linked with Porro. However, it is particularly difficult to imagine Spurs selling him to close Premier League rivals.

Spurs will release the 25-year-old if an offer of £80 million (€96.2 million/$103.7 million) comes in, despite previous reports that he could be available for £60 million ( 72.2 million euros / 77.8 million dollars).
