New GST Form: GSTN introduces a new application process for settling tax claims.

The Goods and Services Tax Network (GSTN) has introduced Form GST DRC-03A on the GST portal to help taxpayers manage their tax requirements more efficiently. This new tool is specifically designed to allow taxpayers who have used Form DRC-03 to make payments to directly allocate those payments to a specific GST claim order.

How much tax should I pay? Calculate now

Form DRC-03A allows payments to be accurately linked to individual demand orders, increasing the accuracy of the liability register. This form allows you to allocate a single DRC-03 payment to multiple demand orders or assign a single demand order to multiple payments, simplifying the administration of various GST responsibilities.

Form DRC-03A allows taxpayers to efficiently allocate payments to specific orders, ultimately reducing their overall tax liability.

By accurately reconciling payments with demand orders, the DRC-03A eliminates inconsistencies and ensures that payments are allocated correctly.

The significance of Form GST DRC-03A lies in its ability to address the issue of accurately recording payments in the liability ledger. By allowing taxpayers to link their DRC-03 payments to the corresponding demand order, this form ensures that the ledger remains current and error-free. Without this direct link, payments made through Form DRC-03 may be incorrectly recorded, potentially leading to discrepancies in the liability register.

Therefore, using Form GST DRC-03A is critical for taxpayers looking to streamline their tax payment process and maintain accurate financial records under GST.

“The new Form DRC-03A benefits taxpayers by ensuring accurate recording of their payments as per the specific requirements imposed by the GST authorities. Previously, many taxpayers used Form DRC-03 for these payments, which did not allow them to enter a claim number, resulting in the claim still showing as unpaid in the electronic liability register. Form DRC-03A includes a field for demand order number to properly link payments to the corresponding demand and resolve this issue,” said Ankit Jain, partner, Ved Jain & Associates (chartered accountancy firm).
