Who is Farhad Shakeri? The Afghan mastermind of the Iranian plot to assassinate President-elect Trump was deported from the United States in 2008.

Farhad Shakeri, an Afghan man accused of masterminding a failed murder-for-hire plot against Donald Trumpwas deported from the United States after serving time in prison.

The 51-year-old was released from prison in 2008 after serving 14 years for robbery.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the alleged terrorist joined the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).IRGC) and became an asset after deportation.

Shakeri is accused of participating in a vast murder plot on behalf of Tehran along with two New York residents, Jonathan Loadholt, 36, of Staten Island, and Carlisle Rivera, 49, of Brooklyn, also known as Pop.

They are charged with trying to kill Trump, along with two Jewish businessmen in the United States and Iranian-American activist Masih Alinejad. However, no charges have been brought against the accomplices.

The Justice Department says that while Rivera and Loadholt are in custody, Shakeri remains at large in Iran.

Who is Farhad Shakeri?

Shakeri came to the United States as a teenager. However, the FBI did not disclose the year of his arrival in his country of residence. According to the indictment, he met with his accomplices while in prison in the United States.

The indictment alleges that after his 1994 conviction, he was held in a number of state prisons, including Woodbourne Correctional Center, where he shared custody with an unidentified defendant.

Shakeri was transferred to the Beacon facility in 2005 when authorities said he first encountered Rivera. He remained in the US until his deportation in 2008.

His parole monitoring, according to New York Department of Corrections and Community Monitoring reports completed in 2015.

According to the indictment, he was arrested again in Sri Lanka just four years later in connection with the seizure of 92 kilograms of heroin.

Why was Trump targeted by Iran?

Tehran planned a plot against Trump as retribution for the death of Iranian Major General and Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani.

Trump has been a target since Soleimani’s killing, when he threatened to tear Iran to “smithereens” after taking power.

Shakeri was given the command to kill Trump There’s only a month left until Americans vote on November 5th.

In recorded telephone conversations he said FBI that he was not going to complete the operation in the allotted time.

Shakeri was subsequently ordered to shelve this plan because Iran believed Trump would lose the race for the White House and would be easier to contact without the protection of his presidential secret service.
