Chief Administrator of St. Paul’s Chamber Orchestra resigns

During his tenure, the chamber orchestra launched a free online concert library, offering free tickets to children and students and creating a rainy day fund. This fund, along with private donations and federal support, has helped SPCO continue to pay its employees and musicians even after stages were closed due to COVID-19.

“In the spring of 2020, it became really clear that we would have to go a long time without playing shows, and it would be turbulent and difficult,” Limbacher said. “We have committed to maintaining payments to employees and the orchestra.

“We all feel really good about it.”

It was Limbacher’s plan that “has brought the SPCO through the pandemic into better financial shape than most orchestras in the country and has put us in a strong position to address the complex challenges now facing the arts community,” said Deborah Palmer, chair of the Foundation. In a statement from the SPCO board of directors.
