Free Thanksgiving buffet for veterans, families and seniors

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – Thomas Hill, founder of Cookies 4 Kindness, is hosting an annual Free Community Thanksgiving Buffet again this year. They will serve a full turkey dinner with all the sides and desserts to any veteran, family or individual who has nowhere else to celebrate the holiday.

Hill, along with Pastor Rob Ham and Bridge Church (1330 Foster Drive, Reno) and Jaynes Rossall, secretary of the Reno Arch Lions Club and Read Between the Lions, stopped by during the morning break to ask the community for volunteers and donations for the cause. dinner possible.

Lunch will be served on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 26-27, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day. Last year they served more than 500 people, distributed 48 new wheelchairs, helped many with eye care, and the Katie Grace Foundation gave away hundreds of socks and other warm items to veterans and people in need. This year they plan to serve a larger audience where everyone is welcome, especially veterans and seniors.

They also need volunteers to help prepare, cook, serve, clean up, and clear out tables/decorations after the event. To register, contact Thomas Hill at [email protected].
