A patient from Ascension St. Vincent talks about the importance of lung cancer screening

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – In honor of National Lung Cancer Day, Ascension St. Vincent officials are reminding everyone about the importance of CT scans.

Screening for lung cancer is critical to patient outcome.

Finding cancer early means there may be more treatment options.

“I would, by all means, suggest getting a scan,” said Ascension St. Vincent patient Randy Plunkett. “Answers won’t hurt you, if you don’t do anything, it will hurt you, that’s all. I would suggest getting a scan, you know, get scanned if something is wrong. These people are proving that they will fix it.”

The doctor recommends talking to your doctor to find out if you need to be screened for lung cancer.
