Hayden Carter: Blackburn Rovers defender will miss rest of 2024 with knee injury

Blackburn Rovers defender Hayden Carter could miss the rest of the year after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.

The 24-year-old suffered the injury during Rovers’ goalless draw with West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday.

Carter, who made 97 appearances in all competitions for Rovers, underwent surgery and left Blackburn with just three fit central defenders in Dominic Higham, Danny Butt and Kyle McFadzean.

“I think Hayden will be out two to three months.” Eustace said, external. “Unfortunately, this is a big minus for us.

“When I came in last season, Hayden came into the team and did very well. He started this season and performed very well, playing in several positions.

“It is what it is. We lost Hayden and it’s time for someone else to step up and be that person, that’s what this team is all about.”
