But when she asked where it came from, her partner dodged the question, telling her “he got a lot out of it.” She later asked him if the stone was a diamond or moissanite, and he replied that he would have to “look for it.”

The online retailer is known for its cheap household items, clothing, accessories and gadgets, but many Temu shoppers report that Jewelry purchased from the app is “green” and may contain harmful materials such as lead..

The woman reflected in her post: “I’m angry. He makes good money ($200,000 a year) and I think he could spend some money on a better ring than the Tema ring.”

Her fiancé then reportedly apologized for leaving, but stated that he “disagreed with me about my concerns about the ring and says he did his research and that it was highly rated.”

He then accused her of thinking of him as a “miser” and a “liar.”

“I tried de-escalation and told him I understood where he was coming from, but I needed to know if he still loved me. He immediately apologized and still wants to get married.

“He said I could just pick out a ring and buy it with my own money. He said he was tired of talking about it and that now there was “water under the bridge.”

Commenters urged the woman to rethink her relationship, with one noting: “He’s showing you who he is. He’s cheap and now he expects you to buy yourself a ring,” while another added: “Girl, run! He still encourages you and shows you exactly what to expect from marrying him.”

“Go, buy yourself a beautiful, good-quality ring, happily show him what kind of ring you bought for yourself, and then throw it away with the same smile on your face! Bonus points for throwing Temu’s trash (which is probably a health hazard) after him as he leaves.”
