Despite rumors that Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison wants a trade (sparked by a social media post Saturday with the caption “Free 3”), Addison clarified Monday that he doesn’t want to leave Minnesota, ESPN reports. Kevin Seifert.

“People are just trying to make something out of anything,” Addison. told reporters on Monday. “This is no small matter.”

Addison explained that he has used the phrase several times over the past four years, dating back to his time at the University of Pittsburgh.

“I think I came up with it at fall camp 2020 in Pittsburgh,” Addison continued. “And that’s where it started. People need to do their homework before they start saying anything.”

The 22-year-old posted lower numbers in his second season, due in part to an ankle injury and also due to the Vikings’ struggles in the passing game, finishing last in pass attempts per game with 27.14 per Seifert.

“Obviously I would like to see things go a little better,” Addison said Monday. “I’m doing everything I can. I study every week, watch film and just try to get better every day. I’m just looking forward to playing well this week.”

The Vikings will look to bounce back from a 30-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday when they face the Indianapolis Colts at home.
