‘Fossil Lumps’ and All: Jon Stewart Won’t Be Leaving ‘The Daily Show’ Anytime Soon

On Monday in the issue “Daily Show“, the announcement that almost everyone saw coming was finally made.

“I’m coming back, baby! We have another year ahead of us!” John Stewart exclaimed enthusiastically, confirming that what was originally intended to be a part-time hosting service running until 2024 will now be extended until the end of 2025. And for good reason.

In a statement released DiversityStewart shared, “I really enjoyed being back with the incredible team at The Daily Show and Comedy Central. I really hoped that they would allow me to stick to every other Monday, but I will have to accept…

Before accepting an Emmy for his return to The Daily Show, Stewart addressed the question of why not running for office would be a bad move in the current political climate, saying, “Well, I feel like this election is never going to end. So why do I need this? How could I leave? I won’t be allowed to leave until the elections, until we all turn into some kind of hardened lumps. … We’re looking forward to it being terrible.”

On Monday’s episode, the comedian addressed Donald Trump And Kamala Harris‘last attempts before the elections to gather voters. Harris had Beyoncé appear at a rally in Houston. Trump invited comedian Tony Hinchcliffe to Madison Square Garden in New York. However, Hinchcliffe has been met with accusations of xenophobia and racism from the public after he called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”

“In hindsight, bringing a hardcore comedian to a political rally a week before Election Day and roasting a key group of voters probably wasn’t the best campaign decision from a political standpoint, but honestly, this guy is just doing what he does,” Stewart said. The show aired various segments of the comedian roasting different races and ethnicities, and Stewart said, “Yeah, yeah, terrible. There’s something wrong with me. I find this guy very funny, so I’m really sorry.”
