QBR NFL Quarterback Strength Rankings Heading into Week 9 Games

It almost sounded like an apology after Philadelphia Eagles flew past Cincinnati Bengals in the second half of his Week 8 a victory that was not close.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor said. the fans and players deserved better. He said the Bengals were better than their 3-5 record, but admitted that “we deserved it.” He said it was time for the entire dressing room to take responsibility for failing to live up to expectations so far. He said what they say when a struggling team reaches a breaking point. 2024 nfl season when the struggle begins to develop into a crisis.

So here’s the confusing part: With the Bengals in a slump this week, quarterback Joe Burrow rose to the No. 1 spot in the standings. QBR ESPN for the season. He probably deserves better from the Bengals.

The rest of the QBR leaders are starting to take on a more familiar look now that teams have completed nearly half of their schedule. QBR ESPN Explained

Each week, ESPN awards each quarterback a QBR for his most recent performance. According to ESPN, the rankings are designed to “include a quarterback’s full contribution to winning, including how he impacts the game through passes, rushing, turnovers and penalties.”

QBR measures the degree of success of each play and how much grade the quarterback deserves on that play. The statistics also take into account the strength of the opposing defense. The end result is a performance rating as a number on a scale from 0 to 100 points. The cumulative rating is calculated on average for each game during the season.
