16-Year-Old Boy Seriously Injured in Hyde Park Fire, Fleeing Eight People – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BOSTON (WHDH) – A teenager was rescued from a burning home on Hyde Park Avenue in Boston, the fire department said.

Crews responded to the fire around 4:10 a.m. and found smoke coming from a window on the upper right side of the building, officials said. The rescued teenager was taken to the hospital.

The Suffolk County District Attorney confirmed the victim is a 16-year-old boy.

Firefighters said five adults and three children were also displaced. The fire caused between $100,000 and $150,000 in damage, Boston Fire Chief Eric Vinitsky said.

“It looks very scary, to be honest, with the fire, it’s dark there. Usually this house is always decorated for the holidays, like Christmas coming up, so it’s really sad to see it looking like this,” said neighbor Danni Parker.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
