Nonprofit organization helps with trips to polling stations

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – For those having trouble getting to the polls on Election Day, there is some help.

Eau Claire Transit is eliminating fares on Election Day, November 5th.

JONA (Joining Our Neighbors in Advancing Hope) is coordinating rides to the polls for the first time to avoid barriers to voting and support those who cannot drive.

If you are a paratransit user (Abby Vance), your copay will be waived thanks to JONAH.

People may need to travel to obtain a voter ID, return absentee ballots, participate in early voting, or need support on Election Day.
