UFC Adds 3 Veteran Fights to Tampa Card

UFC Tampa continues to host high-profile fights.

Most of them recent announcement On October 30, the UFC announced three more fights at the Florida Fight Night on December 14, including two veteran fan-favorites.

UFC veteran Cub Swanson will make his 25th fight inside the Octagon when he takes on Billy Quarantillo, a hulking striker known for his speed and spectacular fights. Swanson and Quarantillo are looking to bounce back from losses to Andre Fili and Youssef Zalal, respectively.

Although Swanson has lost twice as many fights in the UFC, all of his recent finishing losses have come via leg or body attacks, while Quarantillo was knocked out by Edson Barboza in mid-2023 and then submitted by Youssef Zalal in March of this year.

Michael Johnson bounced back from a devastating knockout against Diego Ferreira to spoil Darrius Flowers’ UFC debut in February. “The Menace” has suffered setbacks throughout his career, but remains a dangerous challenge for newcomers.

Ottman Azaitar was a promising prospect before back-to-back knockout losses in 2022 and 2023. “The Bulldozer” burst onto the scene with one of the most brutal knockouts in UFC history at UFC 243. He was released from the UFC in 2021 after violating COVID-19 safety protocols and receiving “second chance”although after that he still removed himself from the octagon for two years.

Now on a two-fight losing streak after returning without a spark, Azaitar is fighting to maintain his spot on the UFC roster.

Tracy Cortez is looking to bounce back from her first UFC loss to Rose Namajunas in July. She will fight Miranda Maverick, who has earned herself a shot at the flyweight rankings after a three-fight winning streak.
