Scrappy is a 1-year-old hound terrier mix rescued from Louisiana. He arrived at the adoption center when he was just a small puppy and waited for his family to choose him as their favorite canine companion. Since Scrappy has never lived in a home, he needs an owner who has previous experience owning a dog. The Animal League of America wants to ensure that he is given the time and patience he may need to relax and adjust to life in the home. *Dual adoptions available* Meet Smithtown Animal Shelter’s Pets of the Week – Sammy and the Gorgs! These dapper male neighbors are only two years old. Despite their striking similarities, Sammy and Gorgs are not biological brothers. These beautiful boys were taken into the shelter together as kittens. Unfortunately, they fell on hard times when their father’s living situation changed and he was not allowed to take his furry family members with him.

Once you get to know the boys, you’ll quickly realize that it doesn’t take long for Gorgs to warm up to people. A little attention and gentle caresses will be instantly rewarded with the sweet sound of his adorable purring and endless affection. Sammy is a little shy, but once you earn his trust, you will receive unconditional love and devotion. It’s almost impossible to resist Sammy’s adorable nature as he shows how exceptionally sweet he really is.

This duet will warm your heart and give you unforgettable memories for a lifetime. These boys have been through a lot, so the shelter team would prefer that they find a forever home together. However, they are not interconnected and can be separated if necessary. Both are healthy and would likely be ideal for most homes, including those with older children, cats and calm dogs.

If you are interested in meeting Sammy and Gorgs, please fill out the adoption form. application. For more information about rescue efforts in the City of Smithtown, visit: TownofSmithtownAnimalShelter.com
