Creepy creature left in Colorado airport now on display at the Denver Zoo.

Denver Conservation Alliance staff shared news of the successful Halloween crab rescue, along with photos, on Facebook.

“This colorful little stowaway, also known as the moon crab, flew in from Costa Rica and was discovered in the main cabin of the plane when it landed in Denver. International airport“, the message says.

The creatures come in shades of black, orange and red, with some people saying the crabs resemble Jack-o-lantern.

Halloween crabs are commonly found in the Central and South Americaaccording to Critter Squad.

A zoo spokesperson told Fox News Digital via email that “this rescue is one of many Denver Zoo The Conservation Alliance is involved.”

The spokesperson added: “We work closely with local, state and federal officials and agencies to ensure a good home. for animals who were injured, confiscated, orphaned, or would not survive in the wild.”

The crabs are typically two to three inches in size.

They can live up to 10 years, according to Critter Squad.

“To get into the Halloween spirit, you can catch this crab at our Animal Ambassador displays at Gates Amphitheater all month long,” the zoo said in a statement.
