Receive free admission to the Akron Zoo on select days in November.

AKRON, Ohio — The Akron Zoo announced that guests can get free or discounted admission for several days in November.

The zoo is offering free admission on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5th. Guests wearing red, white or blue can also receive free entry on November 9-10 as part of the Red, White and Zoo Days promotion.

On Monday, November 11, the zoo will celebrate Veterans Day by offering free admission to military veterans. Immediate family members of veterans will receive a 50 percent discount on admission, according to the zoo. Guests must present a valid military ID to receive the discount.

The zoo’s popular shopping event, Shop-a-Holidays, is scheduled for Saturday, November 16th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature more than 60 local vendors located throughout the zoo. The zoo will partner with Akron Firestone Visual Arts to open a craft corner for youth during the event. Discounted admission through Nov. 16 will be $7 per person, according to the zoo.

During the off-season, the zoo is open from 11:00 to 16:00 daily. Admission prices range from $9 to $19. Tickets can be purchased on the website zoo website or at the entrance to the zoo. Children under 2 years old stay free. Parking is free.
