Freddie Freeman and his Los Angeles Dodgers teammates win 2024 World Series came at a difficult time for the Freeman family.

“It’s a real rollercoaster of our emotions,” wife Chelsea Freeman said in postgame interview on Wednesday, October 30th. “We were at our lowest, and to be here today is the highest high.”

She continued, “I’m so proud of him (for everything we’ve been through as a family this year and all of his injuries. He’s Superman, really, but we’re so happy.”

Overcoming numerous injuries during the MLB season, 35-year-old Freddie hit several home runs, including Grand Slam tournament – throughout the World Series. The Dodgers won the World Series against the New York Yankees on Wednesday and the first baseman was named MVP.

Chelsea, 33, and Freddie revealed in July that their 3-year-old son Max hospitalized with Guillain-Barre syndrome. Last month the baby was discharged from the hospital.

“Max still exercises three to four times a week,” Freddie said in a joint interview with Chelsea on Wednesday. “So we’ll continue that to hopefully get him back to normal and walking, but right now he’s up and moving around all over the place.”

According to Freddie, Max is “trying to run, but he’s not there yet.”

“This off-season we will try to return Maximus to full health,” the athlete added. Everything is great with him.”

In addition to Max, Freddie and Chelsea have sons Charlie, 8, and Brandon, 3. Although all three boys attended the first few games of the World Series in Los Angeles, only Charlie traveled with his parents to New York for the final games.

“I saw him singing there!” Freddie noted, describing in detail what winning the World Series meant to him. “It’s every kid’s dream to succeed in situations like this, (and) that’s what I’ll remember. I think this could go on for a long time, right?

In the lead-up to the World Series, Freddie had previously spoken candidly about continuing to play ball despite Max’s health problems.

“Every day is a mental challenge,” Freddie said New York Times earlier this month. “I’m mentally exhausted. It’s not just that (Max) is getting better. There’s a lot more that goes into something like this. I can say that I need more than three days. I could probably tell you that it will take me the rest of my life to (reboot).”
