WATCH | Mayoral shake-up in Nelson Mandela Bay

GEKBERHA – ANC regional chairman Babalwa Lobishe has been elected mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro.

This followed the resignation of National Alliance leader Gary Van Niekerk, who took over as deputy mayor.

Both were elected unopposed.

The ANC is in coalition with six other parties in a local unity government. Lobishe says her key goal is to stabilize the government in the metro.
