The best memes and tweets after another miserable inning from Aaron Rodgers and the Jets.

If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, well, 2024 New York Jets enough to drive anyone crazy. The more things change—a healthy Aaron Rodgers, the firing of Robert Saleh, the trade for Davante Adams—the more they stay the same for Gang Green.

This season’s nightmare hit a new low in Week 8, when Rodgers and the offense stalled again and the defense was unable to get Jacoby Brissett off the field, resulting in a dismal loss for the team. New England Patriots. New York headed home to face the Houston Texans in Week 9 and with a 2–6 record, they were off the runway if they had any hope of making the playoffs in the AFC. It’s time for Rogers and company to finally put their money where their mouth is.

Instead, things somehow got worse. To call the Jets’ first half against Houston “rough” would be a profound understatement: Rodgers missed his first four throws and needed a screen pass for a loss of two yards to avoid the first 0-for-5 start of his career. . ; The offense rushed for just 69 total yards, a whopping three yards per play; and even when wide receiver Malachi Corley appeared to score the first touchdown of the game, he somehow dropped the ball before reaching the goal line. The defense eventually gave in and the Texans rushed for a touchdown to take a 7-0 lead at halftime.

It was as bad as it gets, and Jets fans weren’t shy about letting their team hear it.

We’re out of words about the Jets at this point. The team’s problems have been beaten to death, so let’s get straight to the memes.

You have to feel for Jets fans. It was the culmination of years of effort to build the team, a roster that the organization moved heaven and earth to create. It’s not that they’re a young team offering glimmers of hope for the future as they learn and grow; this team should be a finished product, and yet they try their best not to waste their timeouts and play like they barely practiced together. The only option at the moment looks like another rebuild for fans all too familiar with that word.
