AI will become the ‘cornerstone of business operations’

“For those of us who take advantage of AI, it can be transformative. But for those who don’t, it poses a significant threat. It will be years, not decades,” says Robert Belgrave, chief operating officer of Pax8.

Pax8 harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to help MSPs grow their business, save money and reduce risk. That’s the message Robert Belgrave, Pax8’s chief operating officer, conveyed to MSP leaders when it came to the potential of AI.

Belgrave, who addressed the room full MSP Executives This week at the XChange NexGen conference, hosted by CRN’s parent company The Channel Company in Houston, the rapid growth of AI is outpacing traditional predictions outlined in Moore’s Law, causing both excitement and concern among business leaders.

“AI capabilities are doubling every four to six months,” he said. “We’re not even close to the actual destruction that will occur as a result of this.”

The evolution of AI is broken down into five distinct phases, he said, from basic customer service chatbots to potential machines with human-level intelligence known as artificial general intelligence (AGI).

“The next big milestone in AI will be AGI,” he said. “Once we reach this point, we will be able to achieve nothing but the most impressive technological advances for humanity.”

The implications of this are profound. As AI becomes more capable, it will begin to take on more complex roles, potentially managing entire business operations or even strategic decision-making processes.

And the integration of artificial intelligence will become the cornerstone of business operations. According to Belgrave, experts predict that next year 60 percent of all software will be written by artificial intelligence.

“We are seeing MSPs developing personalized marketplaces for their clients, creating customized solutions,” he said. “This is not just a theory, this is happening today.”

Melvin Williams, CEO of Blue Bell, a Pennsylvania-based solutions provider for M&N Communications, said a partner who is always thinking about what’s next is powerful, especially when it comes to artificial intelligence.

“Pax8 has evolved from being your wingman in its early days to becoming a full-fledged e-commerce technology platform empowering the MSP community, and now uses Al to provide forecasts to its partners,” he told CRN. “Their ability to stay at the forefront of technology is changing the way we serve our industry. “

Belgrave advised MSPs to embrace AI technology while remaining vigilant about the challenges associated with it.

“For those of us who embrace the benefits of AI, it can be transformative. But for those who don’t, he poses a serious threat,” he said. “Not decades, but years have passed.”
