Election Day is just around the corner, and along with the “I Voted” sticker, some companies are offering perks ranging from a discounted trip to the polls to a free sweet treat.

Although it’s illegal reward people for voting or paying people to register to vote (as evidenced by the backlash against Elon Musk’s Controversial $1 Million Lottery to Registered Voters in Swing States), these benefits are promotions and discounts.

Election day which falls on Tuesday, November 5th, is not a federal holiday. However, some states observe it as a public holiday, so local government offices may be closed. More than 2,000 companies are participating in the Time to Vote initiative, which agrees to ensure their employees can vote around their work schedule.

While less than half of US states require employers to provide workers with paid time off to votesome companies offer free gifts to those who take the time to vote.

Lift also said it offers a 50% discount (up to $10) on travel to the polls on Election Day. Users can pre-download the VOTE24 travel code no later than November 5th.

Lyft said it has helped 3 million people go to the polls in the years since the program launched.

“Lyft believes that access to transportation should never be a barrier for any citizen wanting to vote,” Jerry Golden, Lyft’s chief policy officer, said in a statement.

Car rental company Hertz is offering one free day for customers who rent two or more days between October 21 and November 5 as part of its promotion. conduct a voting transaction.

Krispy Kreme, which often hosts holiday promotions, is giving away donuts in honor of “DOUGHmocracy.” Participating stores across the U.S. will give away a free original glazed donut, no purchase or vote verification required.
