The driver involved in the accident in which a 74-year-old woman was injured is being sought.

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) – Police are searching for a hit-and-run driver who seriously injured a 74-year-old woman near Madison Thursday night, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

MNPD said a woman was struck while attempting to cross Gallatin Pike at Wellworth Street.

Witnesses told police the woman was trying to cross the intersection around 7:45 p.m. when she was hit by the driver of a red sedan, likely a Toyota.

She was taken to Skyline Medical Center where she is being treated, police said.

“Anyone with information about the hit-and-run driver/vehicle is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers can remain anonymous,” MNPD said.
