104 days: Kamala Harris has yet to hold a formal press conference since becoming the Democratic nominee.

vice president Kamala Harris spent 104 days as the presumptive and now official Democratic presidential candidate without holding an official press conference.

Since early August, Trump has held at least six news conferences to answer questions from the media. Harris has held several brief, informal meetings with the media this week on the campaign trail, including on Monday when she criticized the tone and rhetoric at Trump’s rally in New York over the weekend.

On Tuesday, she gave a speech in Washington, D.C., outlining her path forward for the United States and how it differs from what she calls Trump’s radical, dark vision.

Harris also ended her streak of no-shows on Fox News last month while being interviewed in Pennsylvania by top political anchor Bret Baier. She also was interviewed by CNN last week on NBC News, Telemundo and CBS, as well as several podcasts and local news stations this week.

Harris has stepped up her interviewing in recent weeks, including radio appearances, friendly appearances with The View, Stephen Colbert and Howard Stern, as well as appearances in other media.

But as for when she will actually hold an official press conference as a candidate, that day doesn’t seem to be coming, at least not while she’s still a candidate.

Conservative Radio Libre host Jorge Bonilla believes Harris should hold a press conference but said it almost “doesn’t matter” because she continues to get a pass.

Trump has missed several potential interviews in recent weeks, but he did appear at the annual Al Smith dinner, where presidential candidates have historically had a carefree roast. Harris chose not to attend, sending a video message instead.
