Bollywood power couple known as DeepVeer welcomed their baby on Sunday, September 9th. On Diwali, Deepika posted the first picture on Instagram, which showed only her daughter’s legs in a vibrant red outfit and her name. The name “Dua” translates to “prayer”, which gives a special meaning to their daughter’s personality.

The arrival of little Dua caused a wave of love and joy on social networks. The heartfelt announcement of the name instantly attracted an outpouring of warm wishes from fans and friends of the celebrities. Karan Johar was one of the first to comment, writing, “What a great name,” accompanied by red heart emojis. Alia Bhatt and Ananya Panday joined in with their red hearts, while Bipasha Basu, who is herself a mom to baby Devi with husband Karan Singh Grover, commented, “Happy Diwali, Dua.” Arjun Kapoor wrote: “Baby Simba.”

Revealing the name, she wrote in the caption, “Dua Padukone Singh | दुआ पादुकोण सिंह “Dua”: means prayer. Because She is the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are filled with Love and Gratitude. Deepika and Ranveer.”

Interestingly, Ranveer once revealed that he is compiling a list of names for his unborn child. On an episode of his show The Big Picture, Ranveer revealed one of the names included in the list. While talking to a contestant named Shauryaveer, Ranveer asked permission to use their name if he had a child. “Master list of names bana raha hun ke. Don’t you remember how to do this, Shauryavir Singh? (I’m shortlisting names. Do you mind if I take ‘Shauryaveer Singh’ from you?,” he said on the show. In an old interview, Ranveer admitted that he would be happy if he and Deepika had a girl.
