Stephen Mack employees say the Class Act program has a positive impact on both students and staff. At the quarterly meeting, skits are shown, a brief presentation of the message is given, and “Class Act” T-shirts are awarded to teachers who demonstrate positive behavior. Beth DeVries, a social worker at the school, said she was proud of the children’s response.

“When you pay attention to positive behavior, you will see more positive behavior. So by calling out all these students, when they earned a Class Act T-shirt and they were the best of our best kids, going above and beyond and making a difference, other kids want that T-shirt and so we keep it going. all year round,” DeVries said.

Justin Bonn, principal at Stephen Mack School, says rewarding 40 kids each quarter for kindness reminds every student to follow the same school theme.

“Although we do a lot of things to talk about children’s behavior and how they should react and relate to each other, this has been going on for 26 years and has been proven to work, so we’re really looking forward to it. says Bonn.
