Bollywood stars often regret turning down films that went on to become massive hits, and actress Ameesha Patel is no exception. Known for her successful roles opposite Hrithik Roshan in Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai and Sunny Deol in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Ameesha recently opened up about her career choice, which she now regrets. In a recent interview on YouTube channel BeautybyBiE, Ameesha revealed how she unknowingly turned down a role in the 2003 hit film Chalte Chalte starring Shah Rukh Khan, and she wishes the decision had been different.

Ameesha explained that she missed out on the opportunity because her secretary did not inform her about the offer. According to her, she didn’t even know about the role until Shah Rukh himself invited her to the dubbing studio and showed her a few scenes from the film. During this meeting, he teased her by saying, “Come on, I’ll show you some cuts of the film that you rejected.” When Ameesha asked which film he was referring to, Shah Rukh replied, “This one,” pointing to scenes from the film. . The role eventually went to Rani Mukerji, who received widespread praise for her performance.

Interestingly, Amisha was not the only leading actress considered for the role of Chalte Chalte. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was initially cast as the female lead and several scenes were shot with her. Reports indicate that Salman Khan, who was then linked to Aishwarya, created a scene on the set that prompted the producers to change the role.

While Chalte Chalte was a missed opportunity, Amisha is back in the limelight with her recent film Gadar 2 releasing in 2023. 625 crore at the Indian box office. Despite mixed reviews, the film brought new recognition to Ameesha, once again cementing her place among the famous stars of Bollywood.
