Adele hugs Meryl Streep, dressed as the heroine of the series “Death Becomes Her”

Adele paid tribute to one of Meryl Streepfavorite movie roles – and the actress seemed to approve!

During her Weekend with Adele At a residency show in Las Vegas on Friday, November 1, the 36-year-old singer made her way through the crowd at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace dressed as Streep’s Madeline Ashton from the 1992 film. Death becomes heras seen in video shared on the Internet.

Wearing a silver jacket reminiscent of the one Streep, 75, wore as Ashton in the comedy-sci-fi film, as well as a blonde wig and a large silver necklace, Adele sang her track “When We Were Young” but stopped when she saw the star standing in the hall in front of her.

“Hi,” Adele said cheerfully, curtseying to the Oscar-winning actress, who then returned the favor by bowing to the performer.

The pair then embraced tenderly, holding each other as Adele continued to perform the tune from her 2015 album. 25. “I love you,” she told Streep between lyrics.

Adele’s sweet encounter with Streep came shortly after she shared the moment with Celine Dion at her residency show in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 26th.

IN video Posted by fan account X (formerly Twitter), Adele sang the same song she sang when greeting Streep as she approached 56-year-old Dion.

Adele became whiny as the couple hugged for a few seconds. She then said a few words to Dion, who held Adele’s face in her hands, before the “My Heart Will Go On” singer kissed her hand.

Adele later spoke in detail in mail on X why this moment was so special for herwriting in part: “I’ve been performing in Celine Dion’s room at the Colosseum for almost 2 years now. It was the only place I wanted to perform in Vegas because it was built for her. I have a picture of her next to the stage that I touch every night before I go out, and she came to the concert this weekend and it was a surprise and it was a MOMENT!!”

Soon after, Dion herself paid tribute to a special moment shared between the singers, writing to Adele Instagram post on Friday, November 1: “Your performance was impressive, your production was so beautiful. We loved seeing you and hearing you sing… it was such an emotional evening for all of us.”
