A Wheel of Fortune the contestant failed to solve the $75,000 bonus puzzle, which many viewers weren’t shy about saying they knew about. But the very presence of the participant in the bonus round was with a minimal advantage; he won the game by only $100.

On Monday, November 4th episode, Kenneth Blount-Haimes, a 13-year flight attendant from Charlotte, North Carolina, via Atlanta, Georgia, advanced to the bonus round after one of the closest episodes in history. He finished with $18,850, ahead of rival Darren, who finished with $18,750.

By selecting “Phrase”, he joined the presenter Ryan Seacrest solve a five word puzzle. It said: “_E’ ‘_ _ _ E’ ‘T_ _ T’ ‘_N’ ‘_ _ _ _ _ N’. Unlike most “Phrases” puzzles, this one was long and in some sense consisted of a small number of phrases consisting of only one long word at the end.

After selecting “WCDO” the riddle read: “WE” ‘_ _ _ E’ ‘T_ _ T’ ‘_N’ ‘CO _ _ O N’. Seacrest remarked, “Bottom; useful” and Vanna White flashed an encouraging smile. But when the 10-second timer started, Kenneth couldn’t make a full guess.

The timer expired and the puzzle displayed as follows: “WE HAVE THIS IN COMMON.” From his gold prize card, Seacrest revealed that Kenneth missed out on an additional $75,000, causing him to step out of frame and exclaim, “Oh my God.”

The game show shared the big miss on YouTube, where many fans in the comments had something in common; knowing the riddle, but Kenneth not.

“RSTLNE was enough for me to solve this problem,” one fan wrote.

“I received this without any letters from Kenny!” wrote something else.

“I made it easy,” wrote a fourth.

“I immediately understood what the mystery was,” wrote a fifth.

“Damn at least it wasn’t $100,000,” chimed in a fifth.
