Volunteers planted 107 trees to replace those damaged by tornadoes in Buffalo

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A group of Buffalo neighbors spent Saturday morning replanting trees destroyed by a tornado in August.

It was an EF-1 tornado that tore through downtown Buffalo, ripping off the roof of a Niagara Street office.

Damage in Buffalo after a tornado touched down

Many days after the tornado struck were spent collecting branches and debris from trees damaged by the tornado.

Re-tree volunteers grabbed shovels and gloves and headed to Johnson Park, near the Buffalo Zoo, Kleinhans and the Buffalo Central Terminal.
