Los Angeles Chargers vs. Cleveland Browns odds, picks and predictions

Los Angeles Chargers (4-3) meet Cleveland Browns (2-6) on Sunday in a Week 9 matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm ET (CBS). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds at Chargers vs Browns chancesand make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

Last week, the Chargers posted a 26-8 win over the New Orleans Saints as a 7.5-point favorite with the under-41.5. On the road, Los Angeles is just 1-2 straight (SU) and against the spread (ATS) in its last three games, while the Under are 2-1 in those matchups. The total falls to 6-1 in the Bolts’ favor this season.

The Browns surprised the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8, winning 29–24 as a 7-point underdog with the over (45) getting the win. QB Jameis Winston started for injured QB Deshaun Watson (Achilles), and he ended up becoming Cleveland’s first QB that season to pass for over 300 yards.

The 29 points in Week 8 were the best offensive output of the season, as the Browns had scored 18 points or fewer in the previous 7 contests.

Chargers: Browns picks and predictions

Forecast

Chargers 23, Browns 19

Money line

The Chargers (-125) cost a little more than just playing the visiting team and scoring points. If you like the road team, look at the spread instead.

PASS.

Anti-spread

CHARGERS -1.5 (-110) are much better players, unless you firmly believe that Los Angeles will win, but only by one point.

The biggest news for the Browns +1.5 (-110) is that Owusu-Koramoah is out of the game and headed to injured reserve. He is the heart and soul of the defense and a tackling machine. Owusu-Koramoah makes his presence known with a variety of solo tackles, quarterback hits and the occasional pass from defense.

Winston has done a good job in the Ravens’ pass protection, but the Browns won’t have much room to operate against the Bolts’ stifling D.

More/less

LESS THAN 42.5 (-110) – thin, but use half the game at best.

Under won the Chargers, going 6-1 this season. To date, they have scored 17 points or less in each of their last 4 games and 6 of their 7 games.

In three road games, the Bolts have allowed just 12.0 points per game, after scoring 19.0 points per game in their previous two road games.

For the Browns, although they scored 29 points in Week 8, this is an offense that has scored 18 points or fewer in each of the first seven weekends.
