Closing adult centers in Birmingham is undemocratic, says MP

“When you close your adult centers, when you close your libraries, these are assets that, once gone, never come back.”

According to her, commission members are undermining democracy.

This is not the first time the right to refuse inspection has been used, but it is rare, said Chief Commissioner Max Koller.

“The council has given preliminary consideration to the day center’s decision,” he said.

“Cabinet has been informed of the review’s views and must now proceed to make a decision.

“The deferment costs around £100,000 a month.

“This £100,000 is someone else’s service, someone else’s work.”
