Teddi Mellencamp announces she is filing for divorce from husband Edwin Arroyave

Teddi Mellencamp says she is filing for divorce from husband Edwin Arroyave after 13 years of marriage.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum announced her decision in an interview. Instagram post, writing that her “priority is my children at this time.”

“After much thought and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” she wrote. “My priority is my children and ensuring their privacy and well-being are taken into account as best they can throughout this new chapter.”

“I was reluctant to make a public statement, but in an effort to protect my family from unfounded speculation and rumors, I felt that being open, honest and vulnerable was the best way forward.”

Mellencamp did not provide TODAY.com with further comment on her post. Arroyave has not publicly addressed the news of the divorce.

Singer John Mellencamp’s daughter and Arroyave married in July 2011 and share 12-year-old daughter Slate, 10-year-old son Cruz and 4-year-old daughter Dove. Arroyave also has a 15-year-old daughter, Isabella, from a previous relationship.

IN 2019 Interview Yahoo! life, Mellencamp said she met Arroyave at a Hollywood nightclub about a decade ago and was “casually dating for a long time.”

Mellencamp said in an interview that Arroyave initially “didn’t believe in marriage.”

“He came home and he had tears in his eyes and I’d never seen him cry before, and he just put a blank check on the nightstand and said, ‘Hey, I just wanted to tell you this.’ I love you and today I went to buy a ring. I’m sorry. I just don’t believe in marriage and I don’t want you to break up with me,” Mellencamp told the publication at the time. “I felt like the life had just been sucked out of me.”

However, in the same interview, Arroyave said he ended up proposing the next day, on Christmas Eve.

“Your mind plays tricks on you, and in the end I realized that this is the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with,” Arroyave said.

Last post by Arroyave: Instagram with Mellencamp on October 25, talking about his wife’s story with melanoma. The reality star was the host of the Melanoma Research Foundation gala.

“I always say that life and pain are inseparable,” he wrote. “And seeing @teddimelncamp take her pain and use it for good last night when she hosted the @curemelanoma gala was a wonderful reminder of what she is capable of.”

“Her story has already saved lives. And I am very proud that she will continue to save even more. Love you Teds,” he wrote, before adding, “(So much so that I missed the Rams game to be there).”
