Bohannan says latest Iowa poll shows months of work, Miller-Meeks says otherwise

Democratic candidate for Iowa’s 1st U.S. House District, Christina Bohannan, spent part of Sunday knocking on doors in North Liberty. Bohannan was pleased with the latest Iowa poll, which showed those surveyed in the district favoring a Democrat in Congress.

“The polls reflect the energy we’re seeing on the ground,” Bohannan said. “We’ve been building this for 14 or 15 months and we know our message is resonating. People are tired of the bitterness, the divisive politics, and they are ready to bring Iowans back together to solve real problems for real working families here. in Iowa.”

Bohannan lost to Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks in 2022 by seven points. In 2020, during a pandemic, Miller-Meeks defeated Democrat Rita Hart by just six votes in her first term.

The Miller-Meeks campaign released a statement Sunday saying the new Iowa poll does not reflect what they are seeing. “Like yesterday, Zeltser’s final poll strongly contradicts the reality on the ground. And even the Democrats don’t believe it. On Tuesday, Mariannette Miller-Meeks will win the only poll that matters…”
