American Pickers host Mike Wolfe recalls Frank Fritz’s final moments

“I just told him I wasn’t mad at him, that I loved him and cared about him very much,” Wolfe says. “And then when I saw him struggling, I just said, ‘Just find your mom. Find her now. Just find her.”

Wolfe and Fritz met in high school

According to People, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz first became friends in high school and became close as they both grew up without fathers.

Wolfe admitted he was offended by Fritz’s 2021 interview with Sunbut the pain began to heal when they started talking again in 2023.

“It was wonderful. He struggled with addiction. I know how judgmental the public can be,” Wolfe told People magazine. “And that’s why, when we talked again, it was so easy for me to forgive him, because I knew it wasn’t him who said it. It was his addiction talking.”

“After he had his stroke and went to the hospital, I saw him many times and was able to talk to him very openly and lovingly about everything I ever wanted to tell him,” Wolfe said.
