GoRide app launched to save taxi business – Bawumia

In a bold move to save Ghana’s taxi industry, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has explained the introduction of the GoRide app, a digital solution designed to compete with popular taxi services such as Yango and Uber.

Speaking at a youth event on Sunday, Dr Bawumia explained that the app was created out of the need to prevent the collapse of the taxi business, which is struggling to cope with the shift to digital taxi-hailing platforms.

The GoRide app is part of Dr. Bawumia’s larger vision to solve everyday problems faced by Ghanaians.

As the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), he engaged with various communities across the country, listened to their concerns and shared his policies for a better future.

In recent months, Dr. Bawumia has been engaging with youth in the Central, Greater Accra and Oti Regions, demonstrating his commitment to empowering young Ghanaians through education, vocational training and job creation.

His advocacy work was well received and many expressed confidence in his ability to bring about positive change.

The launch of GoRide marks an important milestone in Dr. Bawumia’s efforts to promote economic growth and support local businesses.

By providing taxi drivers with a digital platform to compete with international taxi services, GoRide is poised to revitalize the taxi industry and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs.

Ahead of the December 7, 2024 elections, Dr. Bawumia’s proactive approach to solving everyday problems has resonated with many voters.

His promise to place the voices and concerns of Ghana’s youth at the center of his leadership has raised hopes for a brighter future.
