Lyft is offering free and discounted rides to the polls on Election Day

Lyft is helping voters get to the polls this Election Day.

As part of its Lyft Up voting access program in 2024, the ride-sharing company said it will offer free and discounted rides to voters who want to cast their ballots.

Lyft also helps provide voting access information by informing voters about registration requirements and what to bring to the polls through voting partners such as When We All Vote, the League of Women Voters and VoteRiders.

As part of the program, Lyft will offer discounted rides to polling places across the country on Tuesday.

Lyft will also offer nonprofit partners free or heavily discounted rides to communities that traditionally face barriers to getting to the polls.

The ride-sharing company said the organizations will distribute ride codes directly to the people they believe need them most.

“Every American citizen should be able to exercise their right to vote without worrying about the cost or difficulty of voting,” Lyft CEO David Richer said in a press release. “Everyone, from the driver who has completed a thousand rides to the rider who has yet to take their first ride, deserves to have their voice heard at the polls. Our voting access program is a great way for Lyft to be a force for good.”

Promo codes will be distributed by Lyft Voting Access partners. They can be used to travel to polling places or registered mailboxes for those in a state where voting is entirely by mail.
