BETHEL — Senior players at West Mountain Senior College in Bethel are performing three original plays written by actors and performing for the first time in front of an audience, as well as one play, “A Good Deed,” by playwright Jim Gordon. The performance will take place at Gould Academy’s McLaughlin Auditorium in Bethel on Friday, November 22nd at 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 23rd matinee at 2:00 pm.

In the opening play, written by actors John Reilly and Bridget Remington, you are invited to a “Thanksgiving Dinner with the Franks” as they struggle with life’s challenges and each other. The cast includes Laney Cross, Bill Corrigan, John Reilly, Mary Hickey, Bruce Pierce, Bridget Remington, Elaine Hutchins, Mary LeConi, Tim LeConi and Tom Hoy.

In playwright Jim Gordon’s drama A Good Deed, Barney, played by Tim Leconi, comforts a man who has just lost his father. A charming twist in the story is revealed towards the end of the play. Other actors include Bill Schuellain, Mary Hickey and Bill Corrigan.

The third show introduces a couple of members of the Rainy Day Garden Club, played by Rosabel Tifft and Gail Parent, who are attending the club’s 57th annual meeting. In the play, written by actor John Reilly, you fall through a black hole and dance in a yellow hole.

The finale, Another Christmas Carol: Who Cares, written by actors Mary Hickey and Leah Paliocha, brings back some of the characters from last year’s plays, now a little older but no wiser. They get together, with or without Christmas spirit, to exchange Christmas gifts at the Senior Center. Pre-planning allows you to avoid a tragic end to the celebration. The cast includes Marianne Goff, Tom Hoy, Leah Paliocha, Tim Leconi, Mary Hickey, John Reilly, Lainey Cross and Bruce Pierce.
