The Washington Wizards should trade the young forward from the Indiana Pacers.

Less than 18 months have passed since Washington Wizards traded the draft rights to Jaras Walker to the Indiana Pacers for the seventh overall pick, which the team selected French forward Bilal Coulibaly.

But Bleacher Report writer Grant Hughes says it’s time Wizards invest in Walker, suggesting a trade between them and the Pacers.

Walker has yet to find a role for the Pacers, who really can’t wait for last year’s lottery pick to figure things out. They’re trying to repeat last year’s run to the Eastern Conference Finals with an already costly and proven Meanwhile, Washington could happily wait years for an intriguing forward combination to become, in theory, a secondary focal point on offense that can guard multiple positions on the other end.” Hughes writes.

Walker, 21, played just 33 games for the Pacers in his rookie season. He was expected to be a strong part of the team’s plans going forward, but those plans evaporated somewhat when the Pacers traded Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors and signed him to a subsequent extension in the offseason.

Walker played all six games for the Pacers this season, but was only able to play nine minutes per game.

If the Pacers want to become buyers at this year’s trade deadline, Walker should be gone by now. He’s the best prospect the Pacers have right now, and the Wizards would be an ideal destination given the team’s current state of play.

If the Pacers were looking to upgrade their forward position, Kyle Kuzma would be an ideal option, and Walker (along with some future draft picks) would be the asking price for the player. Wizards make a move.
