US Election Results Pennsylvania: US Election Results: Will Donald Trump Win Battleground Pennsylvania Against Kamala Harris? Exit polls have answers

The US presidential campaign is coming down to a final push in several states ahead of Election Day. Kamala Harris spends all Monday in Pennsylvania. Donald Trump is planning four rallies in three states, starting in Raleigh, North Carolina, stopping twice in Pennsylvania, with events in Reading and Pittsburgh, and heading to Michigan.

Pennsylvania is the biggest prize among the battleground states, offering 19 of the 270 Electoral College votes a candidate needs to win the presidency. Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral votes provide the largest prize among states, which is expected to determine the Electoral College outcome.

Nonpartisan US election analysts estimate Harris needs about 45 electoral votes beyond the states she is expected to win easily to capture the White House, while Trump will need about 51 votes.

Both Harris and Trump named Pennsylvania as a must-win state that has sent more money and manpower than any other battleground. Ahead of the election, both sides say they are cautiously optimistic. And, as usual, Republicans are exaggerating optimism, Democrats are being cautious, the NYT news service reports. It’s a sign of Pennsylvania’s importance that both candidates will spend their final day of the campaign hitting the state. Harris will start knocking down doors in Scranton. Then, in an effort to reach voters still smarting from a pro-Trump comedian calling Puerto Rico “trash,” the vice president will hold a rally in Allentown featuring two Puerto Rican artists. She will stop in Reading and then finish with rallies in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. (Her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, is campaigning in Wisconsin and Michigan.)

Trump will hold rallies in Reading and Pittsburgh, and his running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, will end his campaign in the Philadelphia suburb of Newtown.

The latest New York Times-Siena College poll, released Sunday, showed Pennsylvania with 48 percent of the vote for Harris and Trump. But behind this connection there were tendencies that supported both sides. Only about 20 percent of Pennsylvania voters have already cast ballots, far lower than in other battleground states where about half have cast ballots.

The vice president wins these early votes by a landslide: 65 percent to 31 percent. But Trump leads by a small margin among the 56 percent of state residents who say they would almost certainly vote but have not (50 percent to 47 percent). He is far ahead among the remaining quarter of voters who are less confident they will care.

At the same time, late decision makers—the critical 6 percent—appear to be going the Harris way. Voters who say they have made up their minds in the past few weeks support her, 53 percent to 45 percent.

It all adds up to a 13-hour stretch in Pennsylvania on Tuesday that could very well determine the next president.
